Draft Intimacy Guidelines Proposed for Latvian Film Industry

A new draft of Intimacy Guidelines for the Latvian Film Industry has been introduced, marking a significant step toward creating safer and more respectful working environments for actors and filmmakers. Developed in response to growing international awareness around best practices for filming intimate scenes, the draft aims to provide clear recommendations on consent, communication, and professional boundaries during production.

The guidelines address a wide range of scenarios, from nudity and simulated sex to emotionally vulnerable scenes, and encourage the inclusion of an intimacy coordinator whenever possible. They are designed to support directors, producers, actors, and crew members in fostering a transparent, respectful creative process without compromising artistic vision.
